Laurence Cavalier

Laurence Cavalier is an Associate Professor HDR at Université Bordeaux Montaigne (France) and Director of Excavations in the Sanctuary of Chthonian Deities, Agrigento (Italy). Her main research interest is architecture with a focus on ornamentation in Hellenistic and Imperial periods. She has worked in Turkey as Director of the Letoon Excavations and in Tunisia as Co-Director of Thignica Excavations. She is the Principal Investigator of the French-Quebec Project ArchXant (2016-2020) which centers on the archives of Xanthos Excavations (Turkey). She has published Architecture romaine d’Asie Mineure : les monuments de Xanthos et leur ornementation (2005), Basiliques de Grèce et d’Asie Mineure (Eds. L. Cavalier, R.Descat et J. des Courtils, 2012), Euploia: la Lycie et la Carie antiques (Eds. P. Brun, L. Cavalier, K. Konuk et F. Prost, 2013), and Auguste et l’Asie Mineure (Eds. L. Cavalier, F. Delrieux et M.-Cl. Ferriès, 2017).
